The first volume of a series of "The Collected Writings of William Hoste" deals with devotional matters, focusing on the Person and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Among other subjects are chapters on the Messiah, Divine Relations before the Incarnation, and the Christ of God. William Hoste B.A. (1861-1938), a prolific writer in his day on Biblical, evangelical and prophetic subjects, was a scholar of high repute and was widely appreciated for his grasp of Divine Truth. He travelled widely in the British Isles, Central Africa and India, where he was highly esteemed for his teaching and preaching. For the seven years prior to his homecall he was the Editor of the "Believers Magazine". William Banks has carefully edited and collated his many booklets and tracts and presented them for publishing under several headings, the first volume being Devotional. It is a great service to a new generation of Christians to have these writings published in a collected form.
