The book is a series seven sermons and then testimonies from the revivals in Lewis in the Hebrides, Scotland and some details about the Faith Mission. The sermons were originally preached in Canada and North and South America, apart from the one on Revival which was to a group of ministers in the UK.
Duncan Campbell, who was classed as a revivalists was anointed through his writings and is firmly anchored in the Word of God.Throughout his works he speaks of holiness, sacrificial death and life, unconscious influence, the Church, revival, prayer, our conduct, great truths to be preached, false evangelistic preaching, repentance, holy confidence in God, blessing and obedience, conflict and conquest, sanctification and revival.
Throughout these sermons there are reference to the Revival in Lewis, along some examples or testimonies. Campbell also pleads from Scripture, begging for mercy from the Lord, testifying that Holy Spirit had come with power. Also included are quotes from many notable preachers like Richard Baxter, Robert Murray McCheyne, Henry Ward Beecher, A. T Pierson, and E. M. Bounds.
