Vance Havner became a preacher at the age of twelve and was ordained when he was sixteen, and until his death in 1986 was actively involved in spreading the gospel and inspiring thousands with the message of the Bible.
This book contains 28 selection of his devotionals and sermons from over a period of 30 years. Yet despite the time period, but the truth within the pages of this book is still unchanged and unchanging. Some of these meditations began beside still waters, and somewhere written on board a plane. These devotions are down-to-earth, but they have persuasive power, subtle humour, and prophetic zeal — all of these characterise his writing.
