Great Preaching on Christmas – GSS compiled by Curtis Hutson.
Some 85 years ago George Bernard Shaw invented a society for the abolition of Christmas. For him Christmas was simply a “nuisance,” supported by the “mob” as a “carnival of mendicity, gluttony, and drunkenness.” But after years of campaigning, Mr. Shaw had to admit his society was a failure. “So far,” said he, “I am the only member.”
The nineteen sermons by fifteen authors have been chosen as the best on the subject of Christmas from many years which have been formerly printed by The Sword of the Lord publications. Some of these messages are addressed to the unsaved; others have a definite appeal to Christians to make first place in their hearts for Jesus. When you read these sermons you will be captivated by the wondrous story, that in the town of Bethlehem was born the King of Glory!
In this volume there are sermons by: John R Rice, Hyman Appelman, Harry Ironside, Tom Malone, R A Torrey and John Linton.
