Loneliness – A Call Back Series by Edwin & Lillian Harvey.
Since beginning this book, Edwin Harvey, the co-author of this book, died before it was published. The aim of this book was to give corrective and Biblical teaching on the subject of Loneliness – be it rejection by man, misunderstanding by church members, or the great cost of pursuing faithfulness to the word and will of the Lord.
The cover of the book was intentionally chosen because it illustrates the issue of loneliness, this picture of a single tree on a rocky prominence, whipped by wind, beaten by rain, and yet sustaining life. So the desire of the authors is that even though there maybe rejection and loneliness in our walk with the Lord, this work will stir up Christians to their high privileges as believers, and remove the false concepts which have distorted vital Biblical Christianity. At time believers may feel they are like than lone tree, but by being faithful to their Saviour, they will not only survive, but continue to thrive.
