Has it ever occurred to you why so many people in the Bible remain unnamed? Have you ever wondered what was the name of Lot’s wife, or why the name of the Rich Young Ruler or Mrs Job is not given? Then there are the unknown names of the Philippian Jailer, Jonathan’s Armour-Bearer or even the Old Prophet of Bethel?
It seems likely that the Lord intends us to focus on the attribute of the person rather than merely their title for the simple reason that each person actions can teach us something about our faith.
