The Person of Christ, Volume 04 – Son of Man, Messiah by H Brash Bonsall.
The purpose of these volumes has been to introduce to the average non-academic person the field of New Testament scholarship, and to explain to the reader its terms and methods. This will provide a firm foundation for their studies in the Scripture or further studies in higher education. This, the last volume in the series concerning the Person of Christ, has as its focus: Mediator, Son of Man; Messiah and the Servant of Jehovah in the setting of Matthew and Mark, with the latest discoveries on John.
In this volume the reader is brought face to face with three of the greatest archaeological discoveries of modern times – the “Magical Papyri” found in Egypt in 1848; the “Nag-Hammadi Papyri” found near Chenoboskion in 1945 and the “Dead Sea Scrolls” discovered at Qumran in 1947. These have caused much of the background history of the New Testament to be rewritten and a re-valuation of Bible manuscripts because they have flooded the life and times of our Lord with new light. Consequently, they have a great influence on the unfolding of our main theme in these volumes – the earthly life of Jesus of Nazareth.
