The Jewish People and the Gospel by C H Spurgeon and Robert Murray M'Cheyne and published by Classics Publishing.
These two sermons preached in the mid 1800's by two great saints of the church emphasises the crucial importance of reaching the physical descendants of Abraham with the Gospel of Christ. Both Spurgeon and M’Cheyne demonstrate the Biblical aspect to this teaching and how we are negligent in our proclamation of the Gospel, if we do not endeavour to reach the Jewish people.
The sermon by Robert Murray M’Cheyne is entitled “Our Duty to Israel” with the text from Romans 1:16. Spurgeon’s sermon based on Ezekiel 38:1 – 10 and its title is “The Restoration and Conversion of the Jews.”
Despite the “time difference”, these sermons are still valuable to us as believers and serve as a timely reminder that the Gospel was to the Jew and then the Gentile.
