This book is not a theological treatise, instead it is a series of practical and devotional Bible readings. The author was anxious that the Holy Spirit should become a real and living person to modern Believers, and that some common misunderstanding concerning Him and His work should be clarified. Although the book is written for Christian people of any age and experience, the writer was constantly thinking of a new believer so many things to the mature believer will appear quite obvious.
The best commentary on the Scripture is the Scripture itself and therefore Rees makes no apology for liberally quoting the Bible for its only through His inspired writings that we can know the Holy Spirit, and while this is complex subject, nevertheless he has set out certain principles concerning the word of the Holy Spirit, which, are clearly laid done in the New Testament. Tom Rees states “I appeal to my readers to meditate carefully upon every Scripture to which I refer and to join me in praying that this book will be a means of blessing to themselves and to others.”
