Commentary on John's Gospel, The Son of God - CCS by John R Rice.
The Gospel of John was written by the Apostle John who identifies himself as the disciple who leaned on Jesus’ breast the disciple whom Jesus loved. John writes “This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things, and wrote these thing and we know that his testimony is true” (John 21:24). The main emphasis of the book is the Deity of Christ along with the work and the coming of the Holy Spirit. There are many references in the Church Fathers that indicate that John later went to Ephesus and he took Mary with him. He was exiled to the Island of Patmos under the reign of Emperor Domitian and there he wrote the Book of Revelation.
It is the desire of the author that the Lord would make the words of this book a blessing to all who read it, assuring the reader that this commentary is a holy task and is written with the deepest possible devotion to the Word of God as the infallible, verbally inspired Scripture.
