The history of the Evangelical Movement of Wales 1948-1998.

In January 1948, during a retreat for Christian students and others in Dolgellau, North Wales, a young girl approached one of the group and said, 'A small stream has started flowing here today: one day it will flow over the whole of Wales.' The story of that stream is the subject of this book, a significant part of the gracious movement of God's Spirit in our land, a work which, in time, came to be known as the Evangelical Movement of Wales.

Here we have a graphic account of how that work, from its stirring beginnings in the late forties and early fifties, spread and developed up to the end of the twentieth century. It tells the story of the early evangelistic campaigns, the youth camps, the nurture of believers in local fellowships and conferences, the establishment of Christian bookshops, the planting of new churches, together with the attempts to foster unity and co-operation - and, above all, the stand for basic biblical truths and the witness of the gospel both orally and in print. Beneath it all, down the years, has been an undercurrent of yearning and prayer for a powerful spiritual revival in our time.
