Notes on the Pentateuch, Volume 3 - Leviticus - CCS by C H Mackintosh and published by Classics.
Charles Mackintosh did not set out to provide a detailed commentary of Leviticus but rather to draw attention to scriptural principles, illustrations and examples found in Leviticus. The descriptions of the sacrifices shed much light on the sinner’s salvation and how it is achieved through the death of Christ, and on the believer’s consequent relationship with God. The details of the law show us much on the nature of sin and God’s requirements. The author explains all these and draws out many lessons, which, though obviously aimed at the readers of his age, speak just as helpfully to us today in a serious yet lively style.
Mackintosh’s style is warm, very readable and clear. Every reader will gain spiritually from his writings.
