The Psalms are filled with poetry, and laments to the Lord. King David and the other psalmists knew dire circumstances as well as great joy. Messianic psalms point to the Lord Jesus Christ while others are psalms of praise and thanksgiving, affirmation and trust, not to mention psalms that call down God's wrath. Through Wiersbe's teaching, you will come to know God as both transcendent and immanent, far above and yet personally with us in our pilgrim journey--the "God Most High" and "Immanuel-God with us."
